A good dog buries, yes, okay?
We Knew; je dis; je sais.*                      *I say, I know (in French)
A good dog buries, yes, okay?
We Knew; je dis; je connais.*                *I say, I know (in French)
I search the waters for a language
I search the sea to see,
I apply my research to knowledge
Of you and me...
As the heat of the jungle greets
The lip of the sand, a grand,
Machetes in hand, a genocide,
A land, the musty musket fire,
A blaze of magic wands,
A search for buried treasure,
Diamonds, gold & pearls,
All glistening & glittering,
The application of a balm,
A bridal train, a yellow rain,
The "civilized" & the calm.
BP, batting practice, a hit
A Texas leaguer, a Texas tea,
As we canter to the new
African dance steppe,*                        *a plain
& not a step too soon
Nor a sweet steppe too steep.
